Before going into a sales appointment, define what you want out of it. Write it down. This will help you aim the conversation to the right place, and your subconscious mind will steer your choice of words as you converse with your prospect.
Arrive at your appointment a few minutes early. Take a few long, slow, deep breaths to center yourself. Then, imagine a successful conclusion to the appointment. The goal you wrote down has come to pass! Vividly imagine it happening; feel the shaking of hands, hear the scratching of a pen as they sign, count the money between your fingers. Smell the moment. Feel gratitude for it.
Stay in this emotional place for at least ten breaths, and then, when you are ready, go close the deal you have envisioned.
